Meeting & Event Planner

American Express is a multinational financial and travel services corporation with a 160- year a heritage of customer service and its offices in 130 countries around the world. The company is a global leader in business travel management. They work with companies around the world to design and manage comprehensive travel and events programs that meet their business goals. Due to continuous development of their Business Travel services they seek new professionals. Currently they are building a team of the Meeting & Event Planners.
 
The Meeting & Event Planner coordinates and ensures the execution of all activities related to meetings & events, i.e. venue search, venue contract negotiation, engaging and working with production companies, sourcing restaurants and extra activities such as team building. This does mean handling off-site meetings including assistance with budgeting, site selection, logistics, on-site supplier delivery relationships, on-site support (optional), invoice reconciliation, billing and payment.  The M&E Specialist may also handle large meetings including site selection, meeting set-up, catering, audio-visual and additional services.
 
OUR REQUIREMENTS:
 

• Highly developed Meetings & Event Management skills with the complete ability to lead projects
• Minimum of 3 years experience of working in the Meeting & Events environment and liaising with external suppliers, organizing conferences, congresses for pharmaceutical companies
• Ability to manage and resolve conflicts and overcome obstacles
• Strong communication skills, facilitation, problem solving techniques and strongly developed service ethic
• A thorough understanding of principles and key drivers of customer satisfaction
• Must be able to simultaneously manage a number of different events including the allocation of sufficient resource
• Thorough knowledge for contracting and vendor negotiation skills of to include hard and soft dollar benefits
• A comprehensive working knowledge of appropriate technology to prepare costing proposal through to final billing reconciliation process
• Aware of VAT regulations applicable in all markets
• Very good knowledge of English or Czech/English or Hungarian/English or Romanian/English languages
•  Able to work on own initiative
