Financial Accountant

For our Client, Big International Insurance company, we are looking for experienced Financial Accountant.

On this position you will be responsible for preparation of the Monthly Management Accounts for company. This will involve the following: over view of  monthly transactions posted for Polish subsidiary, reconciliation and maintenance of control accounts, maintenance of internal management files, agree intercompany balances, produce and submit financial statements under Polish GAAP to Polish Companies office, submission of annual corporation tax in Poland, submission of monthly corporation tax returns based on actual results.

Your duties will also include reconciliations of bank accounts, creditors payment  and all cost allocations are posted to general ledger, reconciliation of cashflows into various with-profit funds, liaise with actuarial on change in value splits, reserves, FFA and Divided Revenue Account (quarterly basis), liaise with Finance in Head Office on financial reporting , MI reporting on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, payroll -ensure all data requirements for employee payments is received in a timely manner,ensure all payroll related reports and journals are reported into general ledger system. Financial Accountant will be responsible for preparation of monthly and annual tax filings for all companies within Poland, preparation of the monthly and annual filings of payroll related taxes, preparation of monthly and annual filings of payroll related costs, liaising with actuarial on monthly basis re various information requirements.

Also important will be regular interaction with other departments, completion of any insurance new business surveys, preparation and submission of company's performance results via Hyperion within agreed deadlines for IFRS, and FSA at Half-year and Year-end in line with corporate reporting timetable, monthly expense analysis and reporting, assist with preparation of quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting process, provide assistance on month-end as required.
General: Compliance – To ensure that you understand and adhere to Company's Code of Conduct and, where appropriate, comply with all relevant regulatory policies. This includes completion of any mandatory training requirements. Financial Controls – Ensure all expenditure commitments (orders, contracts, budgets etc) and all payments are properly authorised, controlled and monitored, in accordance with international delegated authority requirements. The responsibilities of expenditure authorisers are documented in the international Financial Procedures Manual.

Requirements: From our Candidates we expect financial licence e.g.  ACCA, degree in Finance & Accounting, minimum 5 years experience of accounts preparation preferably within Life Assurance / Financial Services Industry, intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Hyperion system. Fluency in English is a must!
